I am originally from California and grew up with a complete different life then I lead now. I have lived in the Country...in Utah for 6 years now... before that I lived in a small town in Oregon for about 10 months, which is the only country I have ever known. That is where I learned how to bale hay, take care of horses, feed cows, work on a farm and much more. I then I moved to Utah where I now live in a small town population maybe about 1,000. I have lived in this town twice and this second time so far has been the BEST. I have a great desire to save money and help others but also share my life and my experiences. I am a certified budget financial counselor who has taken my knowledge of coupons and what I have learned and applied it my life and my families lives. I love what I do and where I come from.
I pretty much describe my self like Sarah from the book Sarah Plain and Tall. If you haven't seen it or read the book, do! Long story short… Sarah left the home she once knew near the ocean and all her loved ones. Then she met a man and moved to the country far away from the life she once knew. She married into a family she didn't know very well but grew to love them. Then she learned the ways of the land, learned to love it and learned how to do real manual labor. Then she and the man started a family of their own. Then she returned to her original home by the sea and it was not as beautiful as she once knew. Still beautiful but different in some way. She missed her new home in the country. Going back to her new home and putting her name in the land... My name is Julie Barnes and this is where I belong and I love it here. Sarah loved her new home but cherished her old home and the family she left behind but somehow she found a place for herself and found out more about herself then she ever thought. She found love and found a life she never knew existed. Sarah and I are the same in that way. I watch that movie often because she was a strong women and willing to take a chance. It just reminds me of myself and I can relate... Bottom line... I love the country and I plan to be here for along time.
